Gusty winds and heavy rains lashed several parts of Goa on Sunday morning due to cyclonic storm Tauktae, uprooting electric poles and affecting the power supply in many parts of the state.
The people affected by the cyclone are twice hit by misfortune – first COVID-19 and now this devastating disaster. Many slums got destroyed as tress had fallen over them and many others had their huts inundated during the rains.
Cyclone Tauktae has caused a lot of damage to Goa, especially to the people living in the slum areas and has left them with no roof over their heads. With no where to go in these grimmest of times, We have decided to distribute tarpaulin sheets as relief material.
Our hopes and prayers are with them. We want to reach out and provide a ray of support and solidarity. In this time of difficulty, they don’t have to rebuild alone. Our community is with them as they pick up the pieces of their lives. Any contribution from you will support them immensely.
