Laxman Haibathi came to El Shaddai homes in 2003 at a very young age, with two of his siblings. They had lost their mother and the father was a migrant who moved from site to site in search of jobs. Laxman and the brothers did not have any place to go and the paternal uncle referred the children to the El Shaddai homes.
Laxman completed his education in the Shanti Niketan School and finished his 10th Std through NIOS. As a young boy, he always offered to help in the homes where he lived. He had a strong desire to give back to the Organisation because he and his siblings got a new life in El Shaddai. After completing his 10th grade, he was placed as an apprentice in Hotel Management at the Park Hyatt in Goa for three years.
Today, he is has a good job at Hyatt Centric in Candolim in the Housekeeping department and will soon be trained for a Supervisory position. He wants to continue his career in Hotel Management and has been saving to travel. He is very keen to travel the world.
He is very thankful for the El Shaddai, staff and supporters who guided him and supported him for what where he is standing today.
El Shaddai supports underprivileged children and their families, encouraging parents to send children to school. We believe, education is the key to break the cycle of poverty and achieve Millennium Development Goals.
We also encourage parents and children to live together as that is the best environment for a growing child. We support families to enable them to work and take care of their children in the home. In cases where the child is be at risk at home, we offer our homes where children grow up in a secure environment.
If you would like to support the work and become a part of change, please consider becoming a Childhood Changemaker.
