A holiday with her elder daughter in 1996 to Goa changed Anita’s life completely.She was absolutely devastated when she found so many children living on the streets with no homes. She works in Goa, the UK, and other countries with great enthusiasm and drive raising funds and promoting the much-needed work of El Shaddai.
Ps. Matthew is the Founder and Managing Trustee of El Shaddai Charitable Trust. He began his working career in the hospitality sector of his home town Cochin, Kerala. After completing his BTH course in 1993, he came to Goa and started working to help alcoholics and drug addicts. He started El Shaddai Charitable Trust in the year 1997. He has 26 years of work experience.
Wife of Mathew Kurian and the founder of Shanti Niketan – Non formal School, founded in 2000. Julia is the Managing Trustee of El Shaddai Educational Trust. She is currently executing and contributing towards the Managing and Educational Planning of El Shaddai Charitable Trust and other projects in Goa.
Mr. Paresh Tewary is known for ensuring sustainable growth of non-profits through strategic 360 degree interventions. His expertise spanning UN, Business Chambers, Corporate, Government Policy, Grass root to Global helps in comprehensive assessment of needed focus encompassing technology, structure, project mode, result orientation, business development, communication, capacity strengthening and increasing the pie. FCRA, advocacy, immunization, education for all, clean drinking water, energy, health, girl child, equity, environment are some verticals of his significant contributions. The ‘National Voluntary Guidelines on Social, Environmental and Economic Responsibilities of Business’ co-authored by him have been mandated by SEBI for adoption and reporting by top 500 companies by market capitalization, in India. Widely travelled, he is a mentor, trainer, and good listener and speaker.
Ben H Berson a training professional, is a top ranking mechanical engineer, alumnus of the Karunya university, and a rank holder in MTech (Modelling and simulation ) and MPhil (Maritime Strategy and Operational Art). He joined the navy in 1991 as an Education Officer and honed his training skills at the Naval Institute of Education Training Technology, Kochi, where he resides currently.
He has held various appointments in the navy, ranging from instructorship at the Naval Academy and Gunnery School. He has also headed Education Departments at training units been the Head of Faculty (Basic Sciences) at the Indian Naval Academy. He has also tenured as Principal of Sainik school Kodagu. Currently as the joint director at NIETT, he runs ‘Train the Trainer’ programs for instructors in the navy.
Ben has been deeply involved in charity work. He reaches out to prisons, orphanages and drug addicts on a regular basis. He is also a motivational speaker covering topics such as leadership, winning attitude, goal setting, overcoming difficulties etc.
He is deeply interested in the outdoors and runs and plays squash and golf. His wife Princy is a civil engineer and they have three daughters who are doing their studies.
Shobha Vishwananth is the founder of Weaver’s Village, Trivandrum, a social enterprise working for Triple Bottom Line to revive pit looms and promote art, literature and sustainable fashion. She is also the co founder of SARSAS (Save A Rupee, Spread A Smile). She was born and brought up in Kerala and now strives to inspire people and spread smiles.
Pastor Robert D’Roza is the Founder and President of Hope Ministries, Bangalore. He is a well known Speaker on the subject of Family Life all over the world. His educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Ministry Degree, Diploma in Business Administration, Diploma in Christian Leadership and a Diploma in Church Management. Additionally, he has thirty years of experience in counseling across a wide spectrum, covering couples with marital problems, drug and alcoholic addicts, those suffering with depression and emotionally disturbed kids. He is also a Corporate Trainer – and conducts training workshops on the subjects of Family Life Enrichment, Time Management and Work Life Balance.
Advocate Thomas joined a leading Legal Firm in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, M/S. Devadason & Sagar as a trainee till enrolment as an Advocate from the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu in March 1997 (Enrollment No. 301/97). He is now the owner of his partnership firm “Thomas & Associates” with a team of eight juniors. He has more than 17 years of work experience in this field.
Joined the ESCT in the year 2004 as Maintenance In charge. Currently holds the position of Project Manager and deals with legal matters, liasoning, registration etc.
Joined the Organization in the year 2004 as Accounts Assistant, now holds the position of Chief Accountant which involves accounting and budget planning.
A student of El Shaddai joined the Organization as a Trainee in HR Department in the year 2011. Now holds the position of HR Executive which involves hiring, job training, employee relations, HR administration, organization structure etc.
Joined in the year 2006 as a Primary teacher, she is now the Trustee of El Shaddai Educational Trust and Head teacher of Shanti Niketan School and is involved in planning, implementation and execution.
Joined as Sponsorship Assistant in the year 2006, he was then promoted to Human Resource. Now holds the position of a Manager.
Joined as Assistant In charge & Fieldworker at Stepping Stones, one of our Day Care Centre in the year 2009. Now he holds the position of State Coordinator which involves smooth running of Day Care Shelter & Community Centre.
Daughter of Matthew and Julia Kurian, Tasha Mathew joined El Shaddai in 2017 as the Content Editor. She is a current Psychology major at Regent University, Virginia, U.S. and works part – time with El Shaddai to help plan, create, edit, and publish the most accurate and concise information about our work on social media and our website.
Lovika is the house incharge of Rainbow House, our third home, situated in Assagao together with Shekinah House and House of Kathleen.This home is a safe heaven for roughly 50-70 girls, aged betweed 10 – 16 years. The children participate in various activities such as talent shows, games, dramas, dances, speeches, and monologues.
Usha is the house incharge for Kathleen House, our fourth home, situated in Assagao together with Shekinah House, House of Norma & Rainbow House. It now has around 50 to 70 of our youngest children aged from 2 to 7; both boys and girls. We conduct different types of fun-filled activities for the children such as dramas, musical chairs, blind man’s buff, drawing, and colouring etc.
Raju is the house incharge of Roshni Nilaya, our fifth Home, situated in Revora. It is a home for around 50 to 70 boys approximately, aged 6 to 10 years. The boys enjoy participating in quizzes, talent shows, dances, dramas, and games/competitions. The home is tucked away from all the noise and situated in a beautiful village near Revora Church.
Nunnem is the house incharge of Norma House, started in the year 2014 as a new home for girls. It is our sixth home situated in Assagao together with Shekinah House, House of Kathleen, and Rainbow House. It currently houses around 50 to 70 girls aged from 7 to 12. The girls enjoy quizzes, talent shows, dances, dramas and games/competitions.
Francis is the house incharge of Verna house, a new home started in 2017 with the help of many generous people. After a great effort and struggle, we managed to acquire a home and renovated it. This is will be the home for roughyl 70 -75 children who live in the slums and streets of South Goa. We have started the home with 35 children and we are looking for more sponsors to support this project.
Jithu is the assistant incharge of Shekinah House, our second home, situated in Assagao together with House of Norma, House of Kathleen, and Rainbow House. It was inaugurated in the year 2000. There are around 50 to 70 boys aged 10 and above living in Shekinah House enjoying love and freedom.
Dinesh if the house incharge of Victory House, our first home started in the year 1997 in a rented home in Vagator – Goa. In 2000, we managed to buy a run down house in Saligao. We renovated and shifted Victory House there. It is a home filled with fun and activities for roughly 70-80 children between the age of 8-12 years.
