AWARENESS RALLIES ON PREVENNTION OF CHILD ABUSE
 

 

In order to spread awareness on ‘Prevention of Child Abuse’ a number of successive rallies were organised on 14th 18th and 19th of November 2014. 

 

 

 The rallies and programmes were held in the major cities of Goa namely Margao and Panjim, while only Stage programmes were held in Vasco, Ponda and Mapusa. A number of dignitaries graced the occasions and spoke on the topic of ‘Child Abuse Prevention’ & 'Child Rights'.El Shaddai children, staff and friends set off on the streets and made their voices heard. Many School students joined to support the cause. Hundreds of people stood by, watching and listening while many cheered them on.

 
 
SHANTI NIKETAN SCHOOL
  The month of November has simply flown by. It was delightful to see all the children come back after their Diwali vacation. Children from Nursery to NIOS answered their II review on 4th Nov’14.
 
ASHADEEP SHELTER
  On 19th November we organized the Prevention of Child Abuse Campaign in Panjim. State Coordinator, Stanly Thomas visited the unit and meeting with the staff related to work. Swanka had been for shelters in-charges meeting at office.
 
ROSHNI NILAYA
  The House caters to 41 children. InCharge went to the Formal School to get the children’s results and discuss with the respective teachers about the progress and feed back of the boys. Staff meeting was conducted regularly after the children went to school.
 
ASHRAYA COMMUNITY CENTRE
  19th November being marked as the Prevention of Child Abuse Day, we focused on this issue this month and conducted awareness programmes.
 
HOUSE OF KATHLEEN
  In the month of November we admitted a 3 year old child named Ashish M Lamani on 20th November. Children are busy with making colorful cards for their sponsors.
 
GOOD NEWS COMMUNITY CENTRE
  During the month of November, we conducted the formal and non-formal tuition classes regularly at the Centre. Around 150 children attended formal classes every day.
 
RAINBOW HOUSE
  50 girls are being taken care by 3 staff at home. Preeti Gosavi has been re-admitted into our Home on 5th November. Most of the girls enjoyed their vacation at home this month and joined us back. We conducted Mock fire drill twice during the month.
 
TREMARA COMMUNITY CENTRE
  Every day we have 70 children from Upper K.G, Lower K.G, Nursery standard that are coming & attending classes. We are teaching the children A-Z alphabets & phonetic sound, Math, English, Hindi & GK.
 
LITTLE ACORNS
Regular curriculum activities of Shelter were conducted. An average of 75 children was treated at Little Acorns every day.  Fire mock drill was conducted on 26th November and the importance of conducting the fire mock drill was explained.
 
VICTORY HOUSE

The house presently shelters around 74 children. 2 children did not return back from the diwali vacation.

 
STEPPING STONES SHELTER
During the month of November we conducted formal and non formal classes for around 85-100 children every day. Nursery classes were held regularly for around 35 children who are attending the classes. We are proving lunch for around 95-100 children every day.
 
HOUSE OF NORMA
The House of Norma is a home to around 47 Children who are looked after by 3 staff. This month we have 3 new girls who have joined the Home and we have taken admission for them in the School. Leader’s meeting was held on 3/11/14 and 23/11/14. Mock Fire Drill was conducted during the month.
 
SHEKINAH HOUSE
30 children from Shekinah House went to Sun Village Resort, Arpora for children’s day celebration, our children enjoyed the event by lots of games, activities and snacks. This month 36 children had gone home for Diwali vacation.
