Meals on Wheels

On the 14th of November 2004, on the occasion of the Children’s Day celebration in India, the ‘Manna’ Meals on Wheels project was launched. Everyday, meals are prepared, packed, transported and distributed to the hungry children who work in the market place. Very often these children who work all day long for a paltry sum of money, for example, selling plastic bags in the fish market, go to bed hungry as the money is taken away by their parents who often spend it on alcohol or gamble it away.

In Vasco city the children of the Red Light area really benefit  from this project.  With the slogan of ‘Let no child go hungry’ we ensure that the children get at least one hot balanced meal a day.
