Rainbow House Staff and Children are ready to welcome the month of October with great enthusiasm
RAINBOW HOUSE, ASSAGAO.
The month of September started with fun-filled activities and programmes planned during the Ganesh vacations. Competitions on Memory test, Mehandi, drawing etc were conducted, and these activities incredibly brought out amazing creative talents treasured in their young minds.
Some of our energetic Rainbow House girls were selected for the volley ball team in their School and are practicing enthusiastically for the upcoming local volley-ball matches. The SNS has finished the Review Test of the students, results of which is anxiously awaited. Further, our teenage girls attended a workshop coordinated by Analisa (Counsellor) at the School while Rucha (184) attended three days management event at Panjim.
Cheryl Crasto (449) moved from House of Kathleen to Rainbow House. She is getting herself adjusted to the home and making new friends. Akkavva, our staff has moved to House of Kathleen and Shaileja will continue to assist us. Our talented girls Salima (146) & Priyanshi (91) took part in a ‘Card Design Competition’ organised by the
Children were taken for a Nature’s walk, after which the groups were required to prepare a summary on the small trip. Our senior girls assisted the staff of the House of Kathleen. During the month few children underwent treatment for fever and are now recuperating.
Our Volunteers, Maxina and Rachel who are well-liked by the children for their affectionate presence visited the house as volunteers. They spent time playing and talking with them. Their dedicated way of teaching the young minds with their innovative ideas on craft work, ribbon dance etc was truly impressive and at the same time showing concern for their tiny queries. They brought bubbles and colouring books for the children to encourage their active minds. There is a healthy give and take relationship between the children and the volunteers throughout their stay, that it is heart-rending at the time of bidding farewell to them.
Rainbow House Staff and Children are ready to welcome the month of October with great enthusiasm. Since the tourist season is starting and with a lot of visitors dedicated to help and make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged Children. October is going to be a great month, as we will be remembering to salute the Father of Our Nation ‘Mahatma Gandhi’, on the 2nd of October for his birthday.
