Our Volunteer Maxina, visited the Home and tied Friendship Bands to the children. The children were engaged with their 1st term exam and are doing pretty well in their studies too. Our Managers are monitoring their progress and always available to assist them in difficulties. School for the tiny tots keeps them engaged in painting, drawing, games and dances and other fun activities.
They, in the Home are being taught at Home to recognize alphabets, numbers, colours, shapes and parts of the body. They are also being taught Nursery rhymes. Activities and games were conducted indoors due to the wet weather.
We had visitors during the month, greatly impressed by the behavior of the children and the work carried by us in supporting and helping these underprivileged street children. Mr Kabir Gama Roy and Rachana from Dona Paula visited the Homes. Mario along with Abigail Athaide, a Visitor from
Pastor Matthew Kurian visited the Home regularly and spent time with the children distributing gifts. We appreciate our volunteer Maxina and her mother Rachel Erangey for generously donating raincoats and presenting toys, colouring books to the children and also spending time playing with them.
We had Ms Sweta Sharma from Assagao celebrating her daughter’s birthday, with the children. All the children enjoyed themselves thoroughly dancing and singing. We also thank the visitors from
By the end of the month most of our children went home for the ‘Ganesh vacation’. House of Kathleen is a little quieter and empty these days.
The children at the House of Kathleen are growing up enjoying a childhood they can cherish and we the staff are doing everything to ensure that they have a normal childhood, they could look back with happiness.
The health of the children was good considering it was cold and wet most of the month. We had few children who suffered from different ailments and have recuperated since. We pray for good health and God’s protection on our children all the time.
