Welcome back to School!

Our Shanti Niketan faculty and staff wish to extend a warm welcome to all our students and friends.

We are looking forward to a happy and successful school year. With 240 plus students the school has increased its population to its largest size.

We are delighted to report that our examination results this year have continued to consolidate and strengthen; our GCSE results are our best ever. Congratulations to all the staff and students who have worked so hard to fulfill our collective potential.

We will publish a detailed breakdown of the results in forthcoming newsletters.

Staffing

Two senior teachers have been appointed from within the school. Ms. Mary Lopez started working at S.N in 2002. She is now responsible for the senior secondary section. Ms. Vinda Govekar started working in S.N in 2002 and is now responsible for the junior section.

Ours is a learning environment, and to achieve high standards, students must work efficiently and be organized, motivated and happy. To support students in resolving problems or issues as they arise we have appointed a psychologist, Ms. Analisa.

To increase the profile of our sporting curriculum this year, we have appointed Mr. Priyanand with the responsibility for promoting sports both in the school and the wider community.

The summer months brought some changes for the coming year:

Accelerated Christian Education: Introduction of two levels of Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E) curriculum with the help of Arthur Roderick –Executive Director, Christian Education Europe (C.E.E) and their team from U.K.

A.C.E system is a concept of individualization. It is a non-graded system, which enables students to go as far as their intellectual and emotional maturity allow.

Library cum Computer lab and Landscaping: We now have a library cum learning Computer Lab opened this year to facilitate our children to have a wider scope of material. We have also done the landscaping of our school surroundings. A well-laid football ground & a volleyball court will further improve the sporting activities of the School.

A special thank you to Mrs. & Mr. Mattock and also to Andrea Ulrich, Dani Theuner and colleagues from Global Transaction Banking AG for enabling us to set up the library cum computer lab. It is not possible to thank each and every individual.
