VICTORY HOUSE, SALIGAO.

vh.JPGThe month of July has been a mixed month for the boys and staff of Victory House. To begin with, we had Johnny Father former In-charge of Little Acorns joining as the Manager. He is a soft spoken man and has proved to be very efficient, intelligent and hardworking.

During the month, we had sponsors of Raghu (ID173) visiting the home. We appreciate them for spending their time and also for their magnanimous donation and sweets for our children. One of our ex-staff, Jason also visited our home and distributed snacks to our children, bringing back past memories.

vh-1.jpgAt present VH has a strength of 57 children and 17 children at the Cottage. This year 5 children are appearing for their X std exam and are working hard. Children are enjoying spending time in the library reading books and local newspapers, learning computer typing and playing games. Games have been conducted group wise and on individual basis. The children have been busy with their studies since the unit tests were upon them.

The children as well as the staff were given deworming tablets as part of the health requirement. Few children had to undergo medication for fever and mumps. As the monsoons have set in, children effected with common cold and fever were taken for a checkup and now recuperating.

One of our child, Mantesh ID 266 has done his exit formalities and is staying with his Mother. He will continue studying in our Shanti Niketan School and his education will be supported by us through our Community Sponsorship Programme.

We in Goa have been experiencing heavy rainfall. The month of August will strengthen friendships and the rains will ensure that the boys too have fun outdoors. The coming month will also make children realize, what freedom really means both in spirit, mind and body.
