The word ‘RAINBOW’, inspires beauty and joy. It reminds us of the promise made for all generations. The girls of Rainbow House believe it is “God smiling”. The House has settled into a rhythm and we hope all would be well in the coming months.

Children have settled into a comfortable schedule with their studies and project work. There are presently 47 girls in Rainbow House and 10 with Rainbow’s End Cottage. The girls in both these Units have been divided into groups and Assistant Captains appointed for each group; including the election of the Captains for the Home. A new staff, Prithia has been taken on board as the Assistant manager.

The girls attending Shanti Niketan School have answered their monthly reviews, while the girls attending college and other institutes for training are attending their classes regularly, in spite of the incessant rains. Some of them are also attending Coaching Classes for Table Tennis. The children had organized a Skit and Quiz competition at the Home.

July has been a month of excitement for Rainbow House. Some of the girls celebrated their birthdays with their friends at Rainbow House and all the children had a wonderful time.

The month also brought along its usual fevers, common colds, and Mumps which is usual during the rainy season; however these were treated and children have recuperated.

We hope to see many more “Rainbows” on every child’s face. “A smile…. it takes only seventeen muscles to smile, and makes others wonder what you’ve been up to…”
