July has been a month of joy wherein the children settled down fast and trust their staff with the love and care heaped upon them. The new children still find it amazing that they are genuinely loved by someone who is not even related in any way. They are happy going to school and beginning to live their childhood.
Time has been spent not only on play and fun alone, but many children have been studying hard for the first months review at the Shanti Niketan School. Few of them have been involved in crafts and project work. The ones going to formal school are getting ready for their first unit test, while the smaller ones have been busy engaged in coloring and drawing, at the Home itself.
We had few visits to the doctor too, when children developed fever, mumps and infections and some of them needed additional visits, however we are glad that by the end of July almost all our tiny tots were enjoying good health. We are happy on this account as we do not like to see our children sick or unhealthy.
The Home is settled after the goodbyes to the older boys who have shifted to Shekinah House and the senior girls moving to Rainbow House. All the Children are being given individual attention wherever necessary. We hope August will be full of promises and “good things” to come!
