Heavy rains lashed Goa during the month; our children and staff are safe and comfortable. All educational, recreational and office work at the Homes and Shelters are in full swing despite the wet weather conditions. rhs.JPGThe children here settled comfortably after the hectic re opening in June, with books, uniforms and new faces and the staff. The children in the Homes and School have been divided into groups like the year before and Captains and Assistant Captains appointed. The month of July too was exciting and active.

The Management Review Meeting and the Board Trustee Meeting was held at the ESCT office, Mapusa, to discuss issues related with Child Rescue Rehabilitation, Child Protection Policies and Training processes in running ESCT. The meetings were fruitful with ISO training workshop conducted for procedures and policy formats formulated for immediate implementation.

dsc02071.JPGThe Birthday celebrations have begun again. Children have a common birthday function planned during the last week of the month. Some of the new children experienced for the first time. Their birthdays had never been celebrated before, and the cake, songs and the wishes make up for the lost birthday celebrations.img_0097.JPG

We appreciate Mr. Ralph Albuquerque, Mr Reggie Gomes, Ms Josephine Roberts and Colonel & Mrs Noel Goodwin for their magnanimous donation to our Children.

There has been changes in the Staff of the Units while new ones joined us. Volunteers had come visiting and seeking experience makes a commitment to serve the children in a more dedicated manner to join us as staff. Joseph Fernandes, former Manager of Shekinah House has taken over the responsibility for the Electronics and Web designing at the office while Maria & Sonali are on board, as the new staff.

Pastor Matthew Kurian visited UK on official duties while the management staff were engrossed in implementing the Project plans, Audit and Training Programmes

img_0091.JPGThe health of the children during the month has been a mixed bag. While the older boys had very little problems with their health, the younger ones suffered infections brought on by the rains and fever and other illness but by the Grace of God, nothing serious and all of them here recuperated.
