Round up of March

This March was a month of uncertain weather. We began with chilly nights and ended up getting soaked in out of season rains. In between we had very hot days, cloudy days and days that could confuse the weatherman completely. (more…)

Stepping Stones Shelter now running smoothly with valuable inputs from Johnny and new staff being added

The month of March brought a great increase in the number of children attending. We were able to reach out and assist nearly 1430 children. We believe this has come about because of fieldwork that has picked up during this month with the addition of Amit as the new fieldworker operating out of Stepping Stones. (more…)

The month of March passed by with preparation for examination and planning for the summer vacations

This entire month was spent preparing. All boys were busy with their books especially the ones attending formal school. The staff was on hand always to help in times of difficulty and we are proud to say that the boys have learnt responsibility. They would get Home from school, have lunch and straightaway get their books out and begin study. (more…)

March went by in a flash. So many activities kept children and staff on their toes. The little ones enjoyed every minute of every day. Although they did not go to Big Banana Shack beach outing, they made the most of the Baga River End beach visits. (more…)

A variety of events made the month of March a splendid and memorable one for all the boys and staff

March was a different month and unlike any month we have had so far. Boys were deep in studies for the forthcoming final examination and at the same time had lot of activities where they enjoyed themselves and relaxed. To add to all that it even rained heavily bringing relief from an unusually hot summer. (more…)

March was a mixed month. We had examinations, holidays, picnic, Easter celebrations, parties and a couple of goodbyes. The youth service at church is attended to by almost all the girls as it gives them their kind of music and messages that are close to their heart. Maintenance work has been completed at the Home. The number of children attending the Shelter has increased steadily. We believe this is due to the hard work and regular visits to families in and around Calangute. We even have children coming from the neighboring villages of Arpora and Nagoa and Sinquerim. (more…)

Samaritan Purse gift boxes bring delight to the children of Asha Deep

March was spent by the children deep in their books. All school going children were serious with studies as the final term examination was fast approaching. It gave us a sense of pride to see that children had developed a love for books and lessons. Non formal education at the Shelter was also pretty focussed this month. (more…)
