Marcelino’s first holy communion was celebrated at Shekinah House
Jim and Elaine sponsored a circus show for our children and they along with the other children of El Shaddai enjoyed the show. They loved the jokers, the trapeze artists and the three eyed three horned bull. They thank Jim & Elaine for a wonderful evening. Pastor Michael Whittle along with Anitamother spent a pleasant evening with the boys. He is much liked by children and staff. He prayed with the boys and was touched by their sincerity.
Marcelino celebrated his first holy communion with boys of Shekinah House. His father Felix informed that he would serve lunch to the boys on his son’s big day. Little did we expect what he had in mind. They came with a truck load of very tasty Goan food, plenty of soft drinks and snacks. They served the boys along with the staff and enjoyed their time here. The boys sang and danced and played games. Felix said he had never experienced so much love before and promised to visit again and be a blessing to us. Boys and staff thanked them deeply.
The boys spent a very pleasant and blessed evening with Pastor Michael and Anitamother. This man is much loved by the children and he came and conducted evening assembly and prayed for and with the boys. He said he was touched with the sincerity that pours out from their young hearts. Pastor Matthew too spent a lot of time with the boys this month. It is great to see the concern he has for their future. A group of cadets from the N.C.C. also paid us a visit and played on the grounds with the children. they were pleasantly surprised with the energy these boys have.
The staff has changed a little at the Home. Loukesh went to Victory House for a few days to cook in place of David who was out of station. Salim took his place at SH. Narayan our Assistant In-Charge has been transferred to Stepping Stones where he is at the helm there. Ram has joined from Stepping Stones as the new teacher and has got himself immersed with the lessons of the boys. We also have a new addition to the children. Nagesh from House of Kathleen is now a resident of Shekinah House. He has settled very well and already made a few friends.
This month has been a lively one for us. We hope the coming months have many more good things in store for our children. We are presently giving a lot of attention to the studies of boys as exams are approaching and we want them to do well in them. The quiet has returned back to SH after the excitement of December.
