Round up of January

The start to the New Year has been fantastic. The month of January has just picked up from where December left off. The Christmas spirit was still very much present throughout this month. Activities followed closely to one another. Every Unit had more than its share of visitors and kind hearted generous donations towards the betterment of the children in our care. January begins with parties for children of Asha Deep

This month has been a blessing to the children of the Shelter. Right from the beginning they have had one occasion or another to celebrate. Health has been good apart from a few cases of common cold and mild fever. Two of our girls under treatment for skin allergies have responded very well to medication. (more…)

The New Year began in the best fashion a child could ask for. On the very first day of the year all the children were transported to Mapusa for a circus show in the evening. They enjoyed the circus acts tremendously. This show was sponsored by Jim and Elaine Cowper, a couple who has been with El Shaddai from the very beginning. (more…)

This month of January brought everything possible with it. We have had rescues, visitors, hospitalizations, documentary filming, dental camps, maintenance works and new children attending. All this has kept us on our toes and encouraged us to work harder and be more effective. (more…)

The month and year began with a circus show at Mapusa. All our girls and staff went to witness the various acts in the Golden Circus. They were specially amazed at the girl who did the trick with countless rings around her body. Jim and Elaine sponsored the show and the children thanked them for a lovely time. (more…)

The Gift Shop held in January ensuring presents continue long after Christmas

The school reopened on 3rd January after the Christmas break. It was a eventful season for student as well as teachers. It was also a time to rest awhile before the final stretch of school with all the examinations and activities. There were a lot of wishes going around and there was an atmosphere of joy and peace in the school premises. (more…)

Stepping Stones carries a brand new look after extensive renovation

The first month of the year has been a good one for Stepping Stones. The Shelter has a brand new look after going through extensive renovations and restorations. For nearly two months now the workmen have been building, polishing, painting and cleaning. Stepping Stones shines at night with all the new lights fixtures. (more…)

It is rather difficult for the other months of the year to match the excitement that December brings. However, this year January came close to achieving that feat at Victory House. We have had ourselves a very exciting month thanks to all the visitors, friends of El Shaddai and the volunteers who came with smiles on their faces and left a lasting impression on our hearts.
