The month of December is always a month of great expectations. This month signals parties, excursions and good cheer. The month began though with a blood donation camp organised by the Youth Wing of El Shaddai. Almost all the staff of the Trust donated blood at the office premises where doctors from the blood bank assisted.

The visitors were aplenty during this month and the children were busy decorating and enjoying the festival of Christmas. This month also signals the coming of things new. December 2007 will be remembered for a long time to come.

This year we have seen more than the usual number of visitors at the Shelters. Many of them have made this Christmas very special for the children there. Friends of El Shaddai even donated a Christmas party at Little Acorns. Some even painted the Shelter. Donors made generous donations to some of the Homes and Shelters. Shekinah House received a brand new music system which made the boys very happy. Asha Deep children had more than their share of parties, so much so that one had to be postponed to the 2nd of January 2008. Birthdays were celebrated and clowns and jugglers were seen in many of the Units of El Shaddai.

Our UK coordinators and administrators were with us this month. Anita’s son Matthew organised a fishing trip and Allan Dawson caught a big fish. The Homes in Assagao enjoyed the curry made out of it. Other friends also graced us with time and donations. Plenty of cards and wishes came by for all the children and staff. Our co-founders Anita and Matthew left for the UK towards the end of the month for some urgent work there. Bigger boys and girls are being trained as future leaders of El Shaddai. New staff joined us and some have been moved from one Unit to another. The Homes and Shelters have functioned smoothly.

Christmas is a special time for the children. This month many of them along with staff went serenading in star hotels and were greatly appreciated and called back again to perform. Christmas party was held on the 20th with loads of entertainment and games. All the children from all the Units of El Shaddai came and had a great and memorable time. Christmas day was great with each child receiving a gift for Christmas. A personal hand made card went out from each child to their sponsors.

The Homes and Shelters were beautiful to look at with all the decorations, the Nativity cribs and the stars. This month also signals the oncoming New Year. We hope this coming year will bring lots of blessings to all and also help us to reach out and assist many more children. We pray the coming year will be better than any so far.
