The month of November has been one month of tremendous activities. Right from the very beginning to the very end we have been occupied by one thing or another. Children have been out of state and in different places for different events. The staff too have been on their toes during the month.

At the top of the month were the Diwali holidays. School was out and our children stayed home as this is the season when their sponsors come to see them. The Shelters however saw a slight fall in the attendance as children stayed with their parents during the holidays. Visitors in November were aplenty both in the Homes and Shelters. Many have blessed us with donations and assistance. The Homes and Shelter were also being painted this month. At Stepping Stones in Margao major repair work is underway. The children’s Day was celebrated with great devotion with visits to different places and with dramas etc. The school celebrated this day towards the end of the month as the 14 was a holiday.

The month was full of activities. The beach outings began again with the familiar figure of Anitamother. All the children had a chance to visit the beach and they did with great enthusiasm. Twenty five of our children went to Mumbai and Pune to perform street theatre Fantasia. They were accompanied by staff and members of Teatro Per Caso, Italy. They gave four performances that were highly applauded. On the 24th November they performed at Calangute to the pride of the staff and all their friends at El Shaddai. The performance was covered by the local news channels and aired for two days. A rally was also organised by Little Acorns to highlight the issues of children. This was a great success as more than 200 children took part in this. It had special significance as it was on 14th the Children’s Day. The annual ESCT picnic was the red letter day at the Trust. Every child along with the staff of the Homes, Shelters and office all went and spent a wonderful day at the Keri beach. Loads of games and good food ensured that everyone had a great time. Many of the staff and the children went to Aldona to attend the wedding reception of Joseph and his bride. Joseph is with us for over five years and in the In-Charge of Shekinah House.

The month of December is going to be even more hectic with all the activities planned and the Christmas season and celebrations. Some of our Units have already received promises of parties. The Children’s party is already being planned and a sizable donation has already been made towards it. We hope we can give the children a Christmas they can remember and treasure. We also hope we can reach out all the ones who need us with the love of God.
