Little angels enjoy Christmas to the limit
Visitors were plenty this month of December. Sponsors of children came in to see their ‘Child’ and there was so much news to share with one another. The beach outings were enjoyed by one and all and the other excursions too. Many of our children got new sponsors during the beach outings. The month of December began with a buzz and the children just knew it would be exceptional and so it was. This entire month the children were busy and at the same time enjoying themselves. The party season had truly begun for them. At the top of the month Ashok celebrated the birthday of his daughter Arya at the Home.
The birthdays of the children were celebrated and this time it was something very special, both for them and the staff. The cake was beautiful and very tasty. Plenty of snacks and soft drinks were distributed to all children and guests. Sponsors of the birthday celebrants especially made it to the Home for the party. Anjolie Sancia from the office provided ice-cream which was thoroughly enjoyed. Just before the merriment began Ajay Bhat, a clown came and entertained the children. He performed many magic tricks and acts of juggling even juggling batons of fire. The children too got a chance to perform with him. The act that topped it all was Ajay riding a cycle which had only one tire. It amazed the children no end. The children simply loved him and the party was enjoyed by all. It was so warm to see the visitors become children again as they played with the children. The sponsors of Yankamma, Anita and Anand were present at the party.
Four of our girls went serenading with their friends from the 14th to the 24th of this month. Amit and Nikhil both received clothes bought with money given by their sponsors. National Cadets Corp students from St. Mary’s School visited us and performed dances, skits and plays to entertain the children. They also made a donation of clothes and biscuits. Some of our children were taken to the doctors and hospitals for treatment of various illness and we thank God that none of them were serious in nature. All have recovered and are enjoying good health. The owners of Emerald Lawns in Parra provided lunch for the children on 15th.
The Christmas season was very special this year. For many of the new children who are with us from June it was a novel occasion. They had never celebrated Christmas before in their lives. The party on the 20th was enjoyed by all. The cook prepared very tasty food for the children and guests. The games, bouncy castle and the magician’s act were much appreciated. The next day was declared as a holiday for the small ones to rest as on the 22nd another party was held at the school for them. On Christmas day Pastor Dada, Anitamother and Julia Didi came and distributed gifts to all the children. They played with toys and even shared with one another. The atmosphere in the Home was very warm and special.
The month has drawn to a close and so has the year. We have been able to reach many children this year with love and care. We hope that in the coming year we can be a blessing to many more children who need our help and assistance and who need another chance at childhood and fond memories of it. We hope and pray that the good Lord will lead us in the right direction. The children and staff of the House of Kathleen wish each and everyone a Happy New Year 2008.
