December has been one long month of partying and fun

The boys were ready for December long before it arrived. They anticipated a lot of activities and events and they were not disappointed. Holidays only added to the merriment of the season. We were in Christmas mode all this month and it was a joyous month enjoyed by all. The Home was beautifully decorated with lights and Christmas décor. A star and Nativity crib completed the site.

The month began with Krishna being treated for his back pain. He is fine now although he still has to complete his course of treatment. He had a pain free season. Martin Sherman the Podiatrist visited and examined the feet of many boys and treated two of them with special shoes and insoles. 48 boys went to Vintage Hospital in Panaji for a dental camp. We thank Dr. Amber for her time and services. Suhas attended the open day sessions at the Lourdes Convent High School and Monte-De-Guirim School. Our boys have done well and they also took part in various school activities. Some were trained by Joseph and Naveen for the serenading we had at the coastal belt. They did a fantastic job. Boys are also attending the leadership training at the office.

Some visitors served snacks and soft drinks to boys. They also gave indoor games. December 16th onwards the partying season began at the Victory House. Some visitors sponsored a party for the boys and it was a grand one. It kind of ushered in the Christmas season for us. The boys sang and danced for the visitors and all had a lovely time. The Home was decorated with lights and all the boys were very excited. The inside of the home was decorated by the staff and the children. A star was made and also a Nativity crib. The 19th being a holiday the boys used it to complete the final preparations for Christmas day. The 20th saw every one of our boys attending the Children’s Christmas Party at Assagao. They loved the African fire dancers, the magic show and the games. They danced and had a lot of fun. They enjoyed the soft drinks and the sumptuous dinner. They won a lot of prizes too. A couple from the UK visited us on the 22nd with loads of sweets, snacks and soft drinks. It was like a mini party and the boys enjoyed. A Spanish well wisher donated food items which we in turn distributed to other Homes and Shelter. On Christmas Day the Home was flooded with visitors who came with loads of goodies for the boys. Ann and Richard Morris too visited the boys bringing cheer. Greetings were exchanged and music was heard all over the House and the boys had a great day. In the evening the co-founders came and distributed gifts to the boys. Every boy received a gift that he could treasure. This Christmas day will be remembered for long as one could feel genuine love and joy in the Home that day.

The month has drawn to a close and so has the year. We are so pleased that we were able to make a tremendous difference in the lives of the teenagers. We hope and pray that in the coming year we will be able to reach out to many more who need our help and assistance.
