Last month, we highlighted the plight of child workers in India. This month, our Little Acorns Day Care and Night Shelter at Calangute organised a rally for the children by the children at Calangute on the occasion of Children’s Day namely the 14th of Nov 07.

This rally was organised to highlight the issues of children in our society today. Issues of child labour and child rights. More than 100 children from El Shaddai and the areas around Calangute took part in the rally carrying placards and shouting slogans to raise awareness. They demanded their right to education and better health. The rally was flagged off from the Little Acorns Shelter and wound its way to the Jack Siqueira Circle and back to the Shelter.

We thank Johnny and Joanna the In-Charges of the Little Acorns Shelter for putting in a lot of effort to get the rally organised and making it a great success for the betterment of the most important members of our society - our children.
